Kiersten Acevedo is a Director in the Disputes, Compliance, & Investigations group. She is a member of the firm’s Forensic Services practice in New York and has over a decade of experience providing forensic accounting, litigation, and economic consulting services to clients in a variety of matters, including complex commercial litigation, fraud and financial investigations, asset tracing, intellectual property litigation, shareholder litigation, business and partnership disputes, and responses to regulatory enforcement actions or inquiries.
Kiersten focuses on applying economic and financial analyses to assist her clients in addressing complex and unstructured business matters. She advises clients on a wide range of forensic accounting matters with a focus on international disputes and investigations involving real estate assets, consumer products, and fintech. She has also managed and led numerous investigations regarding allegations of financial crimes such as fraud and financial misconduct, corporate whistleblower investigations, embezzlement and kickback schemes, and responses to U.S. government enforcement agencies.
Kiersten works closely with trial attorneys, in-house counsel, corporate boards, management teams, not-for-profit directors, and high-net-worth individuals, and her experience encompasses both private and publicly held companies in a wide array of industries. Kiersten also advises clients on trial strategy and preparation, prelitigation damages assessments, litigation settlement discussions, and financial and economic considerations in licensing negotiations.
Prior to joining Stout, Kiersten was a Manager in the Litigation Consulting & Dispute Advisory practice at RSM US LLP. Prior to that, she was a consultant in the Financial Services practice at Huron Consulting Group Inc.
Kiersten is actively involved with Stout's pro bono practice and several community outreach programs.
