John C. Durbin provides valuation advisory services for privately-held and public and large private companies for the business enterprise as well as the underlying assets, including intangible assets. Valuations are provided for numerous purposes including fairness opinions, solvency opinions, goodwill impairment testing, purchase price allocations, corporate tax reorganization, stock-based compensation, and estate and gift taxation.

John is well versed in valuation and accounting guidance related to business combinations, impairment testing, stock-based compensation, and has extensive experience with the expectations of tax and financial reporting advisory and regulators.  John also has extensive experience valuing intangible assets including trademarks, trade names, patented technology and know-how, software, customer-related assets, and non-competition agreements.

Prior to joining Stout, John worked in sell-side equity research at Northcoast Research where he assisted in the coverage and initiation of coverage for publicly-traded companies in the orthopedic manufacturing and other medical technology and device industries.
