Stout Announces New Cost Segregation Services

Stout is pleased to announce its new Cost Segregation services, expanding the firm's current Real Estate practice within the Valuation Advisory group. The addition of these services positions Stout to assist clients through the entire real estate lifecycle – beginning with transaction structuring to the capitalization, depreciation, and disposition of capital assets.

In conjunction with this announcement, Stout welcomes Managing Director Lee Welborn to lead the practice. Lee brings 30 years of experience in the construction industry and over 20 years of large-firm accounting experience. She has performed cost segregation studies for companies across a wide variety of industries and has deep technical knowledge and experience specific to high-tech data centers, casino and hotel resorts, large office campuses, theme parks, and other entertainment venues. Lee has also performed studies for both book and tax purposes and led studies for facilities located across the U.S. as well as in Europe and Asia.

Stout's cost segregation services will help clients improve cash flow and achieve tax deferral benefits related to their real estate by quantifying costs eligible for shorter depreciation recovery periods. Cost segregation services are applicable for self-constructed and acquired assets, as well as leased property, and are a direct tie-in to services Stout already provides, such as purchase price allocations, machinery and equipment valuation, and property tax services.
