A national publicly traded hospital system engaged us to provide fair market value (FMV) compensation analysis for extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy (ESWL) services compensation arrangements which include the part-time provision of equipment, staff, and supplies.
We were hired based on our expertise in valuing lithotripsy arrangements and our demonstrated ability to develop company and division-wide solutions for recurring transactions in a wide variety of circumstances for this client. The arrangements included divisional networks of the client’s hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) whose hospitals individually or collectively contract with lithotripsy services providers. Our FMV analysis included hospital- and ASC-level evaluations of compensation for lithotripsy services as well as an analysis applicable to the collective hospitals and ASCs, respectively.
Our analysis leveraged our compensation and capital equipment valuation expertise and ensured that the client’s compensation structures were competitive, compliant, and reflective of current market conditions. This facilitated smoother negotiations with the lithotripsy services providers and allowed the client to optimize operational efficiency and maintain high standards of patient care across the division’s hospitals and ASCs.
