In connection with the affiliation of two health systems through the formation of a joint operating agreement/company, Stout was engaged to determine the value of an inpatient pediatric service line that would be contributed by one party, and the value of the trade name, clinical know-how, and protocols that would be contributed by the other party.

In valuing the inpatient pediatric service line, we were also required to determine a fair market value rental rate for use of the space occupied by the inpatient pediatric service line. Our analysis was used to determine the value of the initial capital contributions made by each party to the joint operating company.
