Delivered construction risk advisory services for student housing
Jeff and his team were engaged by an investor client to perform construction risk advisory and project management services for a student housing project. The project involved the multi-phase renovation of two four-story residential student housing buildings, encompassing over 560,000 square feet, 500+ units, and 1,500+ beds, along with multiple parking structures, four outdoor pools, a fitness center, a yoga studio, and study lounges.
The extensive renovation project resulted from constructability and water intrusion issues, which required significant involvement and oversight of the project team, including physical on-site presence, observation, and reporting to achieve successful communication, collaboration, accountability, and delivery.
Pre-Development / Due Diligence
Jeff and his team procured the project team, including design, construction, and consultants, managed contracts, facilitated existing conditions investigations, and developed and managed the overall project budget and schedule.
Design & Construction
Jeff and his team administered pre-design activities and coordinated the design process; managed financial aspects and project accounting; handled change management; monitored construction activities through regular site visits; contributed to furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) selection and procurement; and provided monthly investment risk reporting.
Project Completion / Closeout
Jeff and his team assisted with the project punch list and closeout activities, following through on addressing issues and the project completing to the client’s satisfaction.
