Jacob Parsons focuses on providing financial analysis and insights to assist commercial and public sector entities in accounting for and resolving complex insurance claims and disputes.
Jacob has 25 years of experience assisting commercial policyholders with quantifying, preparing, and presenting complex property damage, business interruption, construction, cyber, pollution, and liability insurance claims. He has led forensic accounting and claim consulting assignments for clients across a wide range of industries, involving losses stemming from perils such as earthquakes, floods, fires, hurricanes, water intrusion, tornadoes, oil spills, communicable diseases, cyber incidents, and construction defects. His efforts have contributed to over a billion dollars in insurance recoveries for policyholders.
He also serves as a damages expert. He has been qualified and testified as an expert witness in federal court. He consults on commercial disputes, advising legal counsel and business executives on financial and economic matters, including lost profits, economic damages, exposure quantification, and litigation risk analysis. Jacob excels at developing statistical analyses to inform decision making in the context of settlement discussions, M&A transactions, and litigation.
Prior to joining Stout, he was a Managing Director with The Claro Group. His other professional experience includes positions in the Claims & Disputes practice at LECG and the Financial Advisory Services practice at Arthur Andersen. Jacob is a thought leader and frequent speaker on topics including lost profits, business interruption, and accounting for damages under commercial property, builders' risk, cyber, and liability insurance policies.
