Zakariyah Shah has over seven years of experience providing accounting advisory services to both public and private clients. He has extensive expertise across a broad range of industries, including consumer goods and retail, industrial manufacturing, automotive, and healthcare.

Zak maintains deep experience in M&A events, including pre- and post-merger integrations, systems implementations, and related accounting standards adoption.

During his career, he has provided operational finance support to and led both assessments and finance process transformations for public, privately held, and private equity (PE) portfolio companies.

Prior to joining Stout, Zak spent years in audit (PwC) and advisory (KPMG), where he focused on M&A integrations and led systems-related initiatives including SAP, Epicor, Planful, OneStream, and lease accounting software. For the leasing software specifically, he created client-specific training materials and operating procedures, and he supported post-adoption matters.

Currently, Zak’s focus areas have concentrated around management reporting cycle acceleration, key finance process remediation, integrations leadership, companies’ debt compliance reporting facilitation, and external financial statement review (GAAP and PE reporting). Zak is a Certified Public Accountant and has provided technical accounting guidance on various topics including, but not limited to, ASC 842, ASC 606, and SEC Regulation S-X and S.
