Nate Kramer has over 16 years of experience providing forensic accounting and litigation consulting services.

Nate works closely with trial attorneys, in-house counsel, court-appointed trustees and examiners, management teams, and government agencies in the context of complex commercial litigation, intellectual property litigation, fraud and financial investigations, contract compliance issues, and business and partnership disputes.

Nate provides dispute consulting and investigative services for various types of engagements, including those that involve economic damages, lost profits analyses, and business interruption calculations. In recent years, more of his work has focused on intellectual property litigation (i.e., patent and trade secrets disputes).

Nate maintains a focus on royalty auditing and contract compliance examinations, in which he assists licensors and licensees in ensuring the terms of their agreements are being upheld.

Industries in which he has analyzed contract compliance and completed royalty calculations have included alcohol, biotech, education, gaming, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and technology. He has testified as an expert in a royalty audit dispute, and he is the author of Stout’s Royalty Audit Guide, a resource designed to assist sophisticated and novice licensors in understanding the rationale for and execution of royalty audits.

Nate also has specific experience and knowledge with respect to cryptocurrency and blockchain. He has calculated lost profits for a bitcoin mining operation; analyzed economic damages suffered by a crypto hedge fund; and identified and quantified the crypto wallets and balances of individuals involved in divorce proceedings. He has also obtained the Chainalysis Reactor Certification credential, which demonstrates his ability to analyze and trace cryptocurrency transactions.

Prior to joining Stout, Nate was a Senior Manager in the Financial Advisory Services group of an advisory and accounting firm. Prior to that, he was with a national accounting and consulting firm providing forensic accounting and litigation consulting services.
