Mason Colgin leads commercial due diligence, M&A strategy, and value creation engagements for private equity and corporate clients. He has extensive experience advising clients on high-stakes investment decisions and strategic growth initiatives. Mason specializes in commercial due diligence, corporate strategy development, and post-acquisition value creation planning, with deep expertise across the energy and power, industrial service and equipment, and business services sectors. His work spans the full deal lifecycle from pre-acquisition market assessment and competitive analysis through post-close transformation and growth execution.
Mason partners with private equity firms, institutional investors, and corporate leadership teams to identify and capture value through transactions as well as corporate strategy development and execution. He has experience leading more than 50 strategy, due diligence, and value creation engagements.
Prior to joining Stout, Mason was an Associate Partner at Bain & Company, where he led engagements in the firm’s Energy & Natural Resources and Private Equity practices and served as the Utilities practice lead for private equity clients.
Mason brings an operator-informed perspective to his advisory work, drawing on prior experience founding a business in the power sector and running a manufacturing company — experience that enables him to translate insight into pragmatic, executable recommendations grounded in real-world operating constraints.
