Edward Aertker has extensive experience leading finance transformation and accounting stand-up initiatives for upper and middle-market companies across industries like technology, media, and telecommunications, construction services, and energy and power. He focuses on building scalable finance functions, strengthening core accounting operations, improving working capital performance, and enhancing internal controls to support growth and transaction readiness.

At Stout, Eddie specializes in establishing and optimizing controllership functions, including close optimization, financial reporting enhancement, and process design across the end-to-end financial cycle. He has led efforts to formalize accounting policies, streamline monthly close procedures, improve balance sheet reconciliation processes, and enhance reporting visibility to drive timely, accurate, and decision-useful financial information. His experience spans revenue recognition, billing, cash application, accruals, and management reporting, with a focus on building sustainable processes that improve accuracy, efficiency, and transparency.

He also has strong experience developing integrated FP&A models, including driver-based forecasting, cash flow modeling, and performance dashboards that align operational metrics with financial outcomes.

Eddie brings deep technical accounting expertise (ASC 606, ASC 842, and ASC 718) that enables him to align operational execution with compliant financial reporting. He has played key roles in complex financial statement restatements, remediation initiatives, and control enhancements, strengthening financial reporting integrity and governance frameworks across reporting periods.

Prior to joining Stout, Eddie was part of KPMG’s audit practice, where he contributed to integrated audits of large public companies, private companies, and SPACs. His combined advisory and audit experience provides a strong foundation in technical accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and governance.
