Edward Aertker has extensive experience providing comprehensive accounting and financial support to upper and middle-market companies across a diverse range of industries, including technology, media, & telecommunications; construction services; and energy & power.
Edward concentrates on finance integration, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), financial statement restatements, IPO readiness, and complex technical accounting matters (including ASC 842, ASC 718, and ASC 606). He plays a key role in leading large-scale finance transformation projects, optimizing financial processes during transactions, such as reducing month-end close times, and overseeing the integration of financial systems and reporting. His work also involves preparing and reviewing account reconciliations, making necessary adjustments, and delivering in-depth analyses of quarterly P&L fluctuations. Notably, Edward played a key role in multiple full financial statement restatements, helping oversee the identification and correction of prior period misstatements and ensuring accurate and compliant reporting across several fiscal years. Edward works closely with senior management and external auditors to ensure accurate financial reporting and to provide timely explanations and insights.
Before joining Stout, Edward gained valuable experience in KPMG’s audit practice, where he contributed to the integrated audits of large public companies while providing audit services for a variety of smaller private companies and Special Purpose Acquisition Companies (SPACs). His experience across both advisory and audit functions has equipped him with a deep understanding of financial operations, technical accounting, and corporate governance.
