Alex Chin

Alex Chin has more than 10 years of experience advising clients from pre-revenue startups to $100 billion+ public companies on technical accounting, financial reporting, and operational accounting matters. Alex has led accounting and reporting workstreams on 10+ IPOs and 20+ M&A transactions, and he has extensive experience leading large-scale remediation projects and first-time audit readiness engagements.

Alex has also led 12+ ASC 606, Revenue Recognition, implementations across SaaS and other service-based businesses, along with engagements addressing debt and equity instruments, share-based compensation arrangements, and other complex technical accounting matters.

Alex serves clients across a broad range of industries, including technology, life sciences, consumer products, manufacturing, and renewable energy.

Alex leads Stout’s Accounting & Reporting Advisory practice in San Diego. Prior to Stout, he was a Director in BDO’s Accounting & Reporting Advisory Services practice and held leadership positions at Highspring and Connor Group.
