Alex Chin has over 10 years of experience advising both public clients and private clients (including unicorns and decacorns) with technical accounting, financial reporting, and operational accounting matters. Alex also has extensive experience with initial public offerings and other going public transactions. He serves clients in a broad range of industries including technology (software, hardware, and software-as-a-service), life sciences, media, aerospace and defense, and food and beverage.

Alex advises companies on complex technical accounting and reporting matters such as revenue recognition, business combinations, debt and equity arrangements including embedded derivatives, share based compensation, leases, goodwill and intangible assets, and earnings per share. Alex also advises companies on financial statement preparation (including for first-time audits). He is also experienced in the preparation and review of SEC filings, including registration statements and annual and interim filings.

Prior to joining Stout, Alex was a Director in BDO’s Accounting & Reporting Advisory Services practice.
