February 01, 2023

Stout is pleased to announce the continued expansion of its Investment Banking platform with the addition of Ted Speyer as a Managing Director in the Financial Sponsors group. Ted is based in the firm’s New York office and will lead dedicated client coverage for a number of the firm’s key private equity relationships.

Over his twelve-plus years of investment banking, Ted has executed a broad range of investment banking engagements, including mergers and acquisitions, and diverse capital markets transactions in the public equity, private equity, and leveraged finance markets. His clients have included private equity firms and their portfolio companies as well as corporates.

Prior to joining Stout, Ted was a Director at RBC Capital Markets in the Financial Sponsors group, where he led the firm’s focus on middle-market private equity and had a lead role in business development and idea generation. Additionally, he co-founded the business services industry coverage effort and began his career in the communications, media, and entertainment group. Previously, Ted also held positions in KPMG Advisory’s Healthcare practice.

“We’re very excited to welcome Ted onto our team,” said Eric Welsch, Head of Financial Sponsors at Stout. “Ted has great experience, strong relationships, and an advisory approach that are well-suited to Stout’s private equity strategy. He will be a tremendous asset to his colleagues and to the private equity sponsors for which we work to create value every day.”

“I’m extremely excited to be joining Stout in the Financial Sponsors group,” said Ted Speyer. “The firm is uniquely poised to make a real impact with core middle-market clients with our combination of insightful experienced bankers and top-notch service delivery. The Stout growth story is extremely compelling, and I’m excited to be a part of driving the next phase.”

Ted earned his M.B.A. in Finance and Corporate Strategy from the University of Michigan’s Stephen M. Ross School of Business, and a B.A. in Economics from McGill University.
