Paul Brooks has been providing consulting services and expert witness testimony support to clients in matters of finance, accounting, and risk management for over 20 years. These services have included strategic advice related to business decisions, forensic investigations, valuations, modeling of financial data, and the calculation of economic damages and lost profits.
Specific matters have included examples of calculation of lost profits and damages, valuation of power options for an entity in bankruptcy, a cost-recovery analysis in the Nigeria delta, extensive gas trading analysis during Winter Storm Uri, analysis of gas processing plant revenue and associated marketing downstream, the analysis of trading positions and structured financing transactions, anti-money laundering investigations, joint venture cost allocation projects, accounting and financial analyses of financially distressed entities, and reviews of internal control policies and procedures, including SEC compliance issues at financial institutions.
Paul has worked mainly in the energy industry but has experience with financial institutions and the healthcare industry. Prior to joining Stout, he held positions in other internationally renowned consultancy practices, including the Big Four public accounting firms.
