Joseph Hoang

Joseph Hoang has over 25 years of experience assisting clients and leading teams in creating solutions for regulatory compliance, investigation, dispute, and operational challenges, with an emphasis on performance and process improvement, complex data management and analysis, business intelligence, systems and reimbursement reviews, and claim-related audits.

Joe has extensive expertise across a variety of healthcare industry clients, including provider organizations, health insurers, managed care organizations, hospital and health systems, portfolio companies, private equity firms, pharmacy benefit managers, and pharmaceutical manufacturers and wholesalers. He has assisted these organizations with issues related to analytics, data validation audits, information systems capability assessments, large-volume commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid claims billing and payment disputes (often involving automated claims auditing), prompt payment, fraud, breach of contract, and contractor performance. He has extensive experience developing and managing business and technical requirements involving data warehousing, healthcare claims analysis, data mining, and business intelligence as they relate to healthcare payers and providers’ claim, clinical, and/or billing systems.

Joe has been retained as an independent reviewer and a healthcare systems/claims data/reimbursement expert, and he has presented written expert testimony in dispute and arbitration matters involving submission of healthcare claims between providers and payers.

Prior to joining Stout, Joe co-built the Analytics and Data Strategy practice at a growth stage consulting firm, and prior to that, he spent time at publicly traded and Big Four consulting firms.
