Ian Kane

Ian Kane has over 14 years of experience in accounting and assurance roles, including technical accounting, financial reporting, and transaction advisory. Ian has experience in complex accounting and reporting issues, including experience in acquisitions and initial public offerings, serving a variety of industries such as technology, medical devices, and life sciences.

Ian’s technical accounting experience includes revenue recognition,  lease accounting, complex debt and equity accounting, share-based payment arrangements, earnings per share, purchase accounting, and consolidations.

Prior to joining Stout, Ian was a Managing Director at Genova Group and, prior to that, has served as the Lead Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting Director at two publicly traded companies, one of which included a carve-out of a multi-billion-dollar company and the subsequent IPO. He was also with KPMG’s enterprise group for six years, where he managed the entire life cycle of the audit process for both privately held and publicly traded clients in the manufacturing, technology, and life science industries. In addition, Ian participated in several initial and follow-on public offerings during his time there.
