Stout served as exclusive financial advisor to Chemring Group Plc in the divestiture of its Explosive Hazard Detection (EHD) business to Elta North America (ENA), a subsidiary of Israel Aerospace Industries Ltd. The transaction closed in May 2025.
Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, the EHD business is a leading provider of explosive hazard detection and counter-improvised explosive device (counter-IED) technologies for U.S. federal and allied defense markets. Its flagship Husky Mounted Detection System (HMDS), a U.S. Army Program of Record, uses ground-penetrating radar to identify buried mines and improvised explosive devices (IEDs). The business also offers handheld detection systems and provides full lifecycle development, production, and support across multiple threat detection platforms.
Stout leveraged its deep industry expertise and cross-functional collaboration, integrating its Aerospace, Defense & Government Services, Professional Services, and Industrials teams to deliver a successful outcome for its client. The acquisition strengthens ENA’s ground-based detection and mobility capabilities, supporting the formation of a Combat Engineering Center of Excellence and expanding its ability to meet the evolving mission needs of U.S. and allied forces.
