Candice Turner is a seasoned tax lawyer with deep experience across public accounting, government service, and private practice. She focuses on tax due diligence and tax structuring for complex domestic and cross‑border mergers and acquisitions, including multinational and private equity transactions.
Candice advises clients across a wide range of industries, with particular strength in private equity, infrastructure, and real estate. She is a recognized subject matter expert on institutional investors, including sovereign wealth funds, foreign pension plans, and insurance companies, and regularly guides them on investments, acquisitions, refinancings, and exit strategies.
Before joining Stout, Candice served as National Managing Principal of M&A Tax at Grant Thornton, was a principal in KPMG’s M&A tax practice, and was a partner at leading Canadian law firm Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg. Earlier in her career, she served as a trial attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice, Tax Division, in Washington, DC.
