Assisted an automotive technology company with SOX compliance

Drew assisted an automotive technology company with a year-one Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) section 404(a) assessment after the company filed its S-1 as an emerging growth company (EGC). During Q2 of year one, the company’s revenue exceeded thresholds requiring organizational compliance with SOX 404(b). Drew led a team of professionals through financial statement process walkthroughs and documentation of a financial statement risk assessment, risk and control matrices, process flowcharts, and internal controls performed by management. The team further advised management of the importance of an annual testing plan and a governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) tool to aid with visibility into the organization’s SOX 404(b) compliance. Management accepted the team’s recommendations, and the team assisted with the implementation of a GRC tool of management’s choosing. As a result of Drew’s efforts, the company successfully filed its 10-K with a clean external auditor opinion and no significant deficiencies reported by management.
