Stout was retained by counsel for a designer of furniture products that was involved in a trademark infringement dispute. Stout’s client, the plaintiff, asserted that the defendant had improperly used the plaintiff’s name in selling furniture products with designs similar to those for which the plaintiff was known. Stout prepared an expert report quantifying damages based on a defendant’s profits theory and, alternatively, as a reasonable royalty. The case settled after depositions were completed.
