John and his team served as exclusive financial advisor to the board of Matritech, Inc. in connection with the sale of its assets to Inverness Medical Innovations. Inverness Medical Innovations, Inc., later renamed Alere, Inc., is a leading manufacturer of rapid point-of-care diagnostic tests. Matritech is a leading developer and marketer of protein-based diagnostic products for the early detection of cancer. The company's leading product, the NMP22 BladderChek Test is a point-of-care test cleared by the Food and Drug Administration for both the diagnosis and monitoring of bladder cancer.
