Given the presence of certain triggering events, Stout was engaged by a publicly traded international manufacturer of tableware products to assist with interim impairment testing procedures.
Our scope of work included goodwill and long-lived asset impairment testing for the company’s six reporting units, which were organized based on geography. Our scope of work also included impairment testing related to four indefinite-lived trade names and an overall reconciliation to the company’s publicly traded market capitalization.
During the engagement, we held discussions with the company’s finance teams in Europe and North America. Given the facts and circumstances, our analysis incorporated going concern and liquidation scenarios for certain operations.
Ultimately, the company’s management team utilized our analysis and report to satisfy financial reporting requirements.
