Ryan Godbey has extensive experience in internal controls, audit, and risk advisory, serving both public and private sector clients. He has broad expertise across a range of industries, including healthcare, logistics, manufacturing, retail, and technology.
Ryan advises public and pre-IPO companies on SOX 404 programs, internal control over financial reporting, risk assessment, and process optimization. He works closely with C-suite executives, audit committees, corporate boards, and finance leaders to strengthen compliance programs, improve operational efficiency, and navigate complex regulatory requirements. His experience encompasses IPOs, audit transitions, digital transformation initiatives, and the design of industry-specific control frameworks.
Prior to joining Stout, Ryan founded Kyntric, a boutique SOX 404 advisory firm where he guided public and pre-IPO companies’ internal controls. Before Kyntric, he spent over twenty years at KPMG LLP, most recently as an Audit Partner in the firm’s Department of Professional Practice, where he led technology-enabled strategic initiatives and provided expert guidance on auditing standards, internal controls, and SEC matters. As a Global Lead Audit Partner at KPMG, he managed a portfolio of mid-cap public companies and private equity-backed companies across supply chain management, healthcare, manufacturing, and industrial sectors.
