Matt Meyering has been a consultant serving financial services firms since 2017.

Matt executes projects to assist clients in evaluating and enhancing their financial crime compliance policies, procedures, and protocols to meet regulatory and industry expectations. He has experience developing and presenting strategic enhancements to senior leadership on processes to increase efficiency and alignment with regulatory requirements.

Matts primary focus is providing BSA/AML services to various financial institutions, such as banks, credit unions, broker-dealers, and fintech companies. He has completed independent assessments, risk assessment engagements, policy/procedure reviews, and lookbacks.

He has experience reviewing and addressing growth opportunities for various facets of a BSA/AML and OFAC program, including but not limited to the following: BSA/AML risk assessments, customer due diligence, customer risk rating, enhanced due diligence, transaction monitoring, suspicious activity reporting, and sanctions screening.

Matt also has experience in completing a fraud lookback review, where he reviewed Paycheck Protection Program loans and determined if fraud was committed. If fraud was identified, Matt assisted the client by drafting and submitting suspicious activity reports.

Prior to joining Stout, Matt was a supervisor in the Financial Crimes Compliance practice at RSM. He began his career with Crowe as a Senior Consultant in the Financial Crimes practice.
