Matthew Katz has more than 15 years of experience valuing complex and high-profile assets throughout New York City. Born and raised in Manhattan, he has appraised over $10 billion in aggregate property value, including some of New York City’s most iconic residences, office buildings, retail properties, and historic landmarks.
Matthew advises a diverse client base that includes Fortune 500 companies, institutional ownership groups, developers, attorneys, local businesses, and private owners and tenants. His experience spans office, residential, retail, hospitality, medical office, development sites and conversions, air rights, cultural institutions, entertainment venues, community facility properties, and other specialized assets across markets nationwide.
His valuation and consulting assignments support a range of purposes including gift and estate filings, portfolio analysis, financing, tax certiorari, transaction due diligence, appraisal review, rent resets and option pricing, and dispute-related matters including litigation, arbitration, mediation, and matrimonial proceedings.
Prior to joining Stout, Matthew held progressively senior roles at Appraisers and Planners, Inc., ultimately serving as Vice President and Senior Appraiser, where he managed complex, multi-asset assignments and advised clients on valuation strategy in dynamic market environments.
