Stout provided independent IT due diligence services in connection with a private equity firm’s investment in a specialty construction and subcontractor services platform. The engagement evaluated the Company’s IT strategy, core systems, infrastructure, cybersecurity posture, and operating processes to assess readiness for continued growth and operational scale.

Our team reviewed the Company’s custom low-code operational platform, financial and estimating systems, cloud infrastructure, and data environment, identifying critical risks related to organizational capacity, cybersecurity resilience, business continuity, and system integration. We assessed how technology currently supports scheduling, job execution, labor management, and profitability tracking, and we highlighted areas where reliance on manual processes and key personnel could constrain scalability.

In addition, we evaluated governance, disaster recovery preparedness, and emerging technology use, including early-stage AI integrations, to identify gaps in controls and policy frameworks. We developed practical, prioritized recommendations focused on strengthening IT leadership, enhancing cybersecurity and resilience, formalizing governance, and unlocking value from the Company’s extensive historical data.

The findings informed the investor’s view of risk, near-term investment requirements, and the role of IT as a scalable enabler of growth post-transaction.
