Stout was retained by external counsel to provide financial analysis and forensic consulting as part of an independent investigation into the dealings of the director of a student organization at a prominent East Coast university. This organization was a large chapter of an international student organization funded by a $50 million-plus parent organization. The matter stemed from a series of loans made to the organization by the previous director and his subsequent resignation. Stout’s analyses included a detailed review of general ledger transactions, a tracking of loan payments, a review of invoice and credit card statements, and reconciliation of the financial statements and regulatory filings. Stout also assisted counsel in preparing for and conducting interviews of key employees, board members, independent accountants, and related parties.
