Client Challenge
Following a change in ownership, a provider of infrastructure maintenance solutions needed to quickly establish a finance and accounting function capable of supporting increased reporting requirements, strategic decision making, and future growth. The organization faced immediate post-close accounting obligations while simultaneously building the processes, reporting, and infrastructure needed to operate as a more mature finance organization.
Stout was engaged to provide interim finance leadership and transaction accounting expertise during this critical transition.
Our Approach
We partnered closely with management to address immediate accounting requirements as well as development of internal, operating, and lender reporting and long-term operational needs. The team led key post-close accounting activities, including preparation of the opening balance sheet, development of the Accounting Standards Codification 805 purchase accounting memorandum, and coordination of the purchase price allocation process. In tandem, the team also built reporting packages, defined enterprise key performance indicators, and automated key finance and accounting activities, including the close process..
Value Delivered
Across both phases of the engagement, we transformed the company’s finance organization from a newly established function into a scalable, well-governed operation capable of supporting continued growth and evolving stakeholder expectations.
By combining technical accounting expertise with hands-on finance leadership, we strengthened financial reporting, improved liquidity planning, enhanced management visibility through actionable reporting, implemented repeatable and audit-ready accounting processes, and established a strong governance framework. The engagement positioned the organization with the financial infrastructure, internal capabilities, and operational discipline needed to support long-term growth and future strategic initiatives.
