William O’Hara has over 15 years of experience advising public and private companies through complex capital markets transactions and financial reporting environments. He has extensive experience supporting initial public offerings, SPAC transactions, and other large, highly complex public-market events, working closely with management teams, boards of directors, auditors, and advisors to navigate SEC-facing processes, readiness requirements, and heightened regulatory scrutiny.
William advises clients across the full transaction and reporting lifecycle, including IPO and public company readiness, business combinations, audit and SEC reporting support, and finance function execution. His experience spans emerging growth companies to highly complex, multi-entity organizations and large-scale transactions requiring deep coordination across stakeholders, rigorous technical analysis, and tight execution timelines. He regularly supports companies during periods of rapid growth, transformation, and transition into the public markets.
In addition to his capital markets experience, William has deep expertise in technical accounting and financial reporting, including stock-based compensation and business combinations. He is an ASC 718, Stock-Based Compensation, subject matter expert and has significant experience advising complex equity structures, award modifications, and transaction-related compensation arrangements in IPO and M&A contexts.
Prior to joining Stout, William was a Managing Partner at CFGI, where he led complex accounting advisory engagements for high-growth and established companies, supported large-scale IPO and public company readiness initiatives, and provided interim finance leadership. He began his career in the audit practice at Deloitte in New York City.
