Tracing analysis of pre-marital investment account, valued at $35M

Expert Opinion - Marital Dissolution

Stout was engaged by the defendant, in a short term marriage of less than ten years, who served as CEO and Chairman of the Board of a large publicly traded government contractor. The defendant owned an investment account that was created prior to the marriage. The defendant’s financial expert claimed the investment account, which had a current value of $35M, was all non-marital. Based on our tracing analysis, we were able to prove that the account was completely comingled with over $12M of earnings and exercised stock options (granted after the marriage). The case settled after the deposition of the opposing expert.
