Stout was engaged by the Defendant in a subrogation claim involving thermal components in home appliances. One of the Defendant's components, which was found in the Plaintiff's consumer appliance, was linked to the cause of a fire that damaged a third party's aviation parts warehouse and inventory located therein. The Plaintiff's insurance subsidiary paid the claims to the third party and brought a subrogation claim against the Defendant. Stout was engaged by the Defendant to assess a possible overpayment of the insurance claims and the lack of proper substantiation provided by the Plaintiff. Stout completed an exhaustive forensic review of the claims and analyzed the settlement made between the Plaintiff's insurance subsidiary and the third party claimant. Stout also submitted an expert report and provided expert testimony at international arbitration.
