Stout has advised New Age Medical (“New Age” or the “Company”), a portfolio company of Compass Group Equity Partners (“Compass”), on its sale to Avesi Partners (“Avesi”). Stout served as exclusive sell-side financial advisor to New Age in connection with the transaction, which closed in September 2026.
Founded in 2012 and headquartered in Chesterfield, Missouri, New Age is a leading MedTech hub serving the spinal surgery market. It acts as a vendor of record to hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) nationwide, supplying spine and orthopedic products from a broad portfolio of original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). As a single vendor of multiple OEMs, the Company helps hospitals and ASCs consolidate their supplier relationships while preserving surgeons’ choice of product. Its network of more than 100 device distributors provides OEMs access to the facilities and surgeon relationships needed to grow without the need to invest a significant amount of capital to build a direct sales force.
Compass Group Equity Partners is a St. Louis-based private equity firm that partners with lower middle-market companies to accelerate growth through a thesis-driven investment approach. Compass first partnered with New Age in 2021.
Avesi Partners is a Connecticut-based private equity firm focused on middle-market companies in healthcare services, healthcare technology, and business services. Since its founding in 2021, Avesi has raised more than $2.2 billion across two funds. The acquisition of New Age adds a specialty medical device distribution platform to Avesi’s healthcare portfolio.
Chris Gibson, Managing Partner at Compass Group Equity Partners, said, “We were thrilled to work with Tony, Tom, and the Stout team on the sale of New Age Medical to Avesi Partners. The team’s deep industry expertise, long-term partnership, and commitment to excellence were critical to achieving a successful transaction. We look forward to seeing Kevin Bly and the rest of the New Age team continue to succeed alongside support from the Avesi team.”
Tom Concklin, Managing Director at Stout, said, “New Age has built a differentiated position in the spine and orthopedic surgical segment by solving the most critical pain points for hospitals, surgeons, and OEMs. Avesi brings the capital and healthcare experience to help the Company continue to expand and serve a wider array of constituents across the value chain. We are proud to have advised New Age and Compass throughout this process and look forward to the Company’s continued growth.”
Tony Crisman, Managing Director and Head of Healthcare Investment Banking at Stout, said, “We were honored to support Compass, a long-standing private equity relationship, in the sale of New Age Medical. The differentiated business model combined with a strong leadership team creates significant long-term growth potential, and we know Avesi is the right partner to unlock for the benefit of the company and its customers.”
