Movement for Meals
Movement for Meals
In collaboration with Stout’s professional athlete brand ambassadors and their partners, Stout has launched Movement for Meals. This charitable program benefits Food Rescue US and the effort to reduce food waste and insecurity in the country.
What is Movement for Meals?
Stout’s charitable program began in 2020 as a fitness and wellness competition to benefit Food Rescue US. In 2022, we have expanded the program to include all Stout’s brand ambassadors and their partners to make an even bigger impact towards the effort to reduce food waste and insecurity in the United States.
How are we helping?
Our program has enabled Food Rescue US to deliver 900,000+ meals to those in need since 2020. Our internal program benefits Food Rescue US through:
- Fitness, health, and wellness activities that are directly converted to donations to Food Rescue US
- Participation in Food Rescues in Stout employee’s local communities and in partnership with PGA and LPGA Tour events
Who is Food Rescue US?
Food Rescue US is committed to reducing food waste and food insecurity in America. Their technology seamlessly engages volunteers to transfer excess fresh food from grocers, restaurants, corporate dining, farms and other sources to social service agencies that feed people who are food insecure.
Food waste in the United States is a growing problem. More than 40% of the U.S. food supply is wasted and Americans generate more food waste than any other country. Food waste is also contributing to 6% of total global greenhouse gas emissions.
Food insecurity means you lack reliable access to a sufficient quantity of affordable, nutritious food. One in seven Americans is food insecure and in 2021, more than 42 million people were estimated to be be food insecure in the U.S.
