Stout Announces Winners of 2023 Women in Business Scholarship

Stout is excited to announce the winners of the 2023 Women in Business Scholarship. The scholarship provides financial assistance to women in their pursuit of a business-related career.

Two thousand dollars were awarded to candidates who embodied Stouts core values and ambitions to help them succeed. Those eligible included sophomore students at a four-year university who identified as female pursuing a degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a business-related field. They also must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2.

The five winners of the 2023 Women in Business Scholarship are:

Irene Bogusz
Majors: Finance; Accounting
School: University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign

Throughout my time at university, I want to accomplish numerous goals, establish a name for myself, and serve as an example to other young women. Through the Women in Business Scholarship, Stouts support and encouragement have enabled me to continue studying at new heights and inspiring other up-and-coming girls to do the same. I can devote more time to improving my education and supporting my peers, whether through homework assistance or interview preparation. It gives me the chance to devote myself completely to my passion for finance and take on new projects and responsibilities I would not have considered otherwise. It has opened new entryways for myself, and I trust the means I take with the support of Stout will impact my own future actions as well as different women in business as well.

This scholarship, I believe, is a reflection of my efforts and merit. It is very motivating to be rewarded for my accomplishments, and this pushes me to continue to work hard to reach my potential.

Anika Gore
Major: Finance and Business Analytics
School: Indiana University Bloomington

To me, this scholarship is an opportunity to fulfill my potential and take additional courses in my Business Analytics co-major and Data Science minor without the stress of worrying about the cost of education. As a student, I strive to learn and grow daily; this scholarship will allow me to do so to the best of my ability. Also, this scholarship to me represents an opportunity to succeed academically and represent women in finance at The Kelley School of Business.

It is an honor to receive this scholarship and the immense motivation it represents for young women like me pursuing careers in business and financial services. I hope to use the platform provided by Stout to continue advocating for gender parity in the workplace, supporting my advocacy for equitable capital access for diverse and women entrepreneurs.

I am incredibly grateful to have been chosen as a recipient of the Stout Women in Business Scholarship. This award acknowledges the hard work and dedication that I have put into promoting gender equality in the workplace. As a woman in business, I have personally experienced the obstacles and discrimination that women face in male-dominated industries. Therefore, this scholarship means the world to me, as being honored reinforces my belief in the importance of promoting diversity and inclusion in business. With the support of this scholarship, I will be able to further develop my skills and knowledge in business, which will enable me to contribute to the advancement of women in the industry. Additionally, I plan to use this opportunity to mentor and inspire other women who aspire to have successful careers in business.

The purpose of the scholarship is to provide young women an opportunity to be successful in school and their future careers. By providing financial support, Stout plays an important role in helping each winner reach their goals.
