Simone Bassanini is a Managing Director in the Investment Banking group and Co-Head of the Milan office. Simone has over 17 years of experience providing both domestic and cross-border valuation and M&A transactions to private, public, and government-related companies and funds.

His investment banking experience includes mergers, acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, divestitures, asset deals, joint ventures and valuations. Simone's experience covers a broad range of sectors within consumer and industrial goods, with an emphasis on the food and beverage sector.

Simone started his career at KPMG and spent more than 10 years in the Corporate Finance Division on the M&A and Valuation teams, residing in both Milan and London. Later, he became head of the Corporate Finance Division at Sodica, executing M&A activities within the Crédit Agricole Group, with a focus on small and medium-sized companies and the food and beverage sector. Immediately after, he spent several years at various M&A boutique advisory firms developing skills in the structuring of private equity funds and special-purpose acquisition companies.

Simone is the author of “20 years of M&A, Mergers and Acquisitions in Italy from 1988 to 2010,” (published by EGEA - July 2010), and of the "Practical Guide to the Development of Entrepreneurial Projects” (KPMG – IBAN).

With a degree in economics and business administration, he earned a Certificate in Corporate Finance (Securities & Investment Institute - London), attended the Harvard Summer School, and for many years was a member of the M&A commission within the AIFI association.
