Simon Dunn is a Managing Director to the Investment Banking group in Stout’s London office. Simon has 30 years of experience in the retail leisure and Internet sectors, encompassing both investment banking and capital markets. During his investment banking career, he has worked on a wide range of transactions including mergers, acquisitions, divestments, restructuring, IPO advisory, and equity capital raising.
In this period he has worked on a number of leading retail transactions, including the acquisition of ASDA by Walmart, the acquisition of 25% of Sainsbury by the Qatar Investment Authority, and the tender offer for the Seiyu by Walmart. In leisure he assisted KKCG on the sale of Fischer to DER Touristik and Gecos SpA on its sale of a shareholding in Nuance to Dufry. He also assisted in the acquisition of Latin American duty free assets by Dufry and transactions involving Thomas Cook, WDF, and Alpha Airports. In the Internet sector, he advised blackcircles.com on its sale to Michelin and bol.com on its sale to Royal Ahold.
Simon has been instructed to act as an expert witness and give oral testimony in valuation disputes involving Internet and retail companies. In this context, he brings valuation experience as a practitioner on transactions involving publicly listed companies, private companies, and other assets.
