Matthew J. Arden is a Vice President in the special situations practice within the Investment Banking group. His investment banking experience includes advising distressed and special situations clients on mergers and acquisitions, private placements, financial restructurings, and valuations. Matt has deep experience in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, distribution, building products, business services, metals and mining, food and beverage, and oil and gas.

Prior to joining Stout, Matt was a Vice President at SSG Capital Advisors, LLC, where he provided investment banking services on over 40 distressed M&A, financing, and restructuring transactions. Prior to SSG, Matt served as a Senior Associate with Graham Partners Operating Company, the operations division of Graham Partners, Inc., a middle market private equity firm. At Graham, Matt was responsible for portfolio company management as well as supporting post-acquisition strategic initiatives, divestitures, and fund valuations. Matt started his career at PNC Business Credit, the asset-based lending division of PNC Bank N.A.

Matt has been a contributor to restructuring industry trade publications and was recognized as an emerging leader during the 2018 M&A Advisor’s 9th Annual Emerging Leader Awards.
