Gina Witherington has over 17 years of experience in accounting and financial leadership roles, including areas of technical accounting and financial reporting. She specializes in assisting companies with audit readiness for U.S. and international companies, first-time registration filings, and financial reporting under U.S. GAAP and IFRS.

Gina brings a diverse international background, having worked and lived in the U.S., Australia (four years), and England (two years).

Gina’s technical accounting experience includes consolidations, stock-based compensation, revenue recognition, lease accounting, business combinations, and international reporting.

Prior to joining Stout, Gina was a Director at Genova Group, where she provided technical accounting and financial reporting services to clients. As an Associate Director at a technical accounting advisory firm, she was one of nine national technical team leaders for the firm. She also worked on domestic and international projects, including liaising between the companies and the auditors to ensure completion of the audits in a timely manner, including audits in the following countries: U.K., Ireland, Belgium, UAE, U.S., Canada, and Australia.

She began her career at a global accounting firm, where she managed multilocational international audits under international auditing standards (IAS), Australian auditing standards (AAS), and U.S. generally accepted auditing standards (U.S. GAAS); designed an internal compliance framework for personnel working in the U.K. and Australia on engagements that had to comply with Public Company Accounting Oversite Board (PCAOB) and U.S. GAAS requirements; performed quality control reviews for U.K. and Australia teams; trained U.K., Australian, and New Zealand partners and managers on new SEC, U.S. GAAP, U.S. GAAS, and PCAOB rules through recordings and in-person seminars; and performed internal peer reviews to ensure audits were in line with PCAOB requirements across the U.S. firms.
