Edward Matthews is a Director within the Investment Banking group and is based in Stout’s London office. Ed has 20 years of investment banking advisory and principle investment experience across many industries including shipping, maritime services, offshore services, business services, property, and insurance.

During his career, Ed has advised governments, public and private corporations, private equity funds, and family offices on domestic and international transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, private placements of debt and equity, initial public offerings, and convertible bond offerings. Selected transactions on which he has advised include the acquisition of Ardent Global by Aurelius; Braemar PLC’s sale of Braemar Response; the Isle of Man Government’s acquisition of the Steam Packet; Berenberg’s acquisition of RBS‘ shipping loan portfolio; Bridgehouse Capital’s sale of Global Marine Group; the sale of Epic Gas to Jefferies Capital Partners; and CBPE’s sale of V.Group to Exponent.

Ed was a founding member of Park Partners, a boutique advisory firm, having previously worked at Epic, a multi-family office, conducting and overseeing principal investments in the shipping, aviation, and property sectors. Before this Ed worked at Rothschild & Co., in London and Hong Kong, both in the M&A and Equity Capital Markets divisions.
