Brendan Smith

Brendan Smith has over a decade of direct investment and valuation advisory experience related to fixed income transactions and other alternative asset classes.

Brendan advises clients on matters related to the valuation of financial instruments and alternative investments, including debt and equity interests across corporate capital structures, structured products, residential and commercial loan portfolios, contingent payments, and a broad array of equity and credit derivatives.

Brendan has a specific focus on advising Stout’s alternative investment management clients on matters related to portfolio valuation as well as the valuation of investment manager and general partner interests.

Prior to joining Stout, Brendan was an Associate with a Boston-based private equity firm that specializes in growth-stage direct lending where he was responsible for managing all phases of the investment process, including transaction origination and financial, operational, legal, and management team due diligence. In addition, Brendan provided support to senior management of portfolio companies in numerous functions, including accounting and budgeting, financial analysis, and operational restructuring.
