Stout announced today the acquisition of Secura Risk Management, LLC, a boutique Atlanta-based consulting firm and membership organization that works with financial institutions of all types and sizes in the areas of payments, regulatory compliance, fraud and risk management, and training and education. The acquisition became effective on October 1.
The two companies have partnered for several years to provide additional value to clients by complementing and broadening service capabilities related to BSA/AML and OFAC/Sanctions, fraud risk management, internal audit, and other regulatory compliance. The addition of Secura will add Payments to Stout’s existing complement of regulatory compliance services for all types of financial institutions.
Stout welcomes an experienced team of professionals, led by new Stout Managing Director, Terri Sands. Sands founded Secura in 2011, leading the company with providing payments and regulatory compliance education, auditing, consulting, resources, and support services to financial institutions. In addition to Terri Sands, financial industry veteran, Deborah McLeod, will be joining Stout as a Director. McLeod bolsters Stout’s existing capabilities around outsourced BSA/AML, payments, and fraud risk management services. Prior to Secura, McLeod served as the Director of Financial Investigative Unit and BSA Compliance Officer for State Bank & Trust Company.
“The addition of Secura Risk Management professionals strengthens our Regulatory Compliance and Financial Crimes practice,” said Mike Petron, Disputes, Compliance, and Investigations group leader at Stout. “Secura has built a solid reputation with financial institutions with their expertise in BSA/AML, Payments, and Fraud risk consulting.”
“Joining Stout increases the value and benefits of our membership, and depth and breadth of services we can provide to clients,” said Terri Sands, founder of Secura. “Stout has a very grounded and practical approach to their service offerings, which aligns with Secura, making this a perfect fit.”
