Stout was hired to assist the defendant with assessing damages related to an alleged partnership. One gentleman claimed that he was a partner with another gentleman who had purchased oil and gas properties and placed them in another entity. He was suing for millions of dollars. We assessed the value of the oil and gas properties that were subject to the dispute, valued the entity holding the properties and determined what value might be attributable to an umbrella partnership or a management performance unit related to the entity. The jury determined that a partnership did exist, but that the damage was zero. They awarded him $90,000 in salary.
