We were engaged to provide expert damages opinions in a patent infringement action involving power-converter technology embedded in various external power supplies for mobile devices. Representing the Plaintiff, a Taiwanese manufacturer of electronic components, we assessed the reasonable royalty damages on Defendants' infringing compact chargers for use in phones and tablets. The royalty determination opinion was supported by an EMVR analysis and an income approach analysis, among other work. We also conducted extensive research and estimated damages for the initial damages disclosure and the parties' global settlement discussions. The case settled before the issuance of a damages report with a favorable outcome for the Plaintiff.
